C'est Bon Anthology vol 9 - Entanglements
C'est Bon Anthology gets entangled in story and image alike. Eliza Frye shows what might take place on other levels for a father and a daughter during something as ordinary as a dinner at a Chinese restaurant.
New segments! We present the first piece in the series "Comics as Art – Art as Comics". We invited visual artist Michel Ducourneau to create a piece especially for this issue of C’est Bon Anthology. For every new issue we will invite an artist who does not usually work with comics, to create one full color page as a bridge between comics and other forms of expression within the visual arts.
Through the years C’est Bon Anthology have presented text pieces that shed light on the art form from unexpected angles. From now on we are focusing our gaze in order to give a deeper insight into the world of comics. In "CBQ&A" we will be turning our attention to the creative process of imagemakers and storytellers that are featured within the covers of this anthology. The first artistic voice to be heard is Allan Haverholm; co-editor for the anthology, as well as a brilliant and prominent comics artist.

CBK and the new decade
During the year of 2010 we will be holding new exhibitions and publish more anthologies than ever before.
Exhibitions
There will be three exhibitions taking place in Sweden: the first in the Spring, the second in the Fall and the third... well somewhere inbetween. The first exhibition will be challenging the conformity of the fixed display of art. Instead, we will create a live and everchanging exhibition where both artists and audience participate, and where the exhibition itself is repeatedly wiped out and replaced by new work.
The second and third exhibitions belong to the "C'est Bon Panorama" series. One will be the new (and third) exhibition reinterpreting a well known story – like the fairytale of Little Red Riding Hood and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in the two previous – and the other will be a collected exposé of the two before mentioned. In the new exhibition we will be turning our attention to another compelling story that has left an imprint in the minds of us all, not to mention popular culture.
We will be updating the site with detailed information about this year's exhibitons as we go along.
Publications
New C'est Bon Anthology is sharper in every way. We have increased the issues per year from two to four, lowered the price per issue and introduced new segments. Except the best graphic short stories from artists from all over the world, we also present, in every issue, an interview with one of the contributing artists to find out more about the inner workings of the creative process. This segment is called "CBQ&A", so come follow us as we go deeper into the black-and-whites of the comics pages.
Furthermore, we present the new segment of "Comics as Art – Art as Comics". In every issue we invite an artist who works in another branch of the visual arts, to create one full color page as a bridge between comics art and other forms of expression.
The year of 2010 will be presenting C'est Bon Anthology volumes 10, 11, 12 and 13. These issues, as well as back issues, are available in our web shop.
The album series of Piracy is Liberation by Mattias Elftorp has moved to our fellow publisher Wormgod. New issues in the series can be found at the Piracy is Liberation website and the Wormgod website, but we will keep holding issues 001 through 006. Piracy is Liberation is political theory, filtered through autobiography, masked as fiction in the form of cyberpunk postapocalypse...

C’est Bon Anthology - Increase, lower and introduce
The big news is that with the new volume, C'est Bon Anthology becomes an even sharper anthology! We increase the issues per year from 2 to 4, lower the price per issue and introduce new elements inbetween the covers. C’est Bon Anthology will still present graphic short stories from artists from all over the world. And it will still look as beautiful as ever.
C'est Bon Anthology vol. 8 - The Animation of Rules
The latest cover art was created by Kolbeinn Karlsson, one of Sweden's most unique artists, and he will be published in English next year. C'est Bon Anthology vol. 8 explores the gray areas between and art and rules. Presenting a text piece by Mike Diana who tells the story of how a court ruling probihibited him from drawing. Kolbeinn Karlsson and Hanna Petterson give you their take on the rules of animation. And more.

2009-07-20
Since last update, we've been to the MoCCA Artfest 2009 in New York City
and the Crack! festival in Rome.
Our next appearance will be at Malmöfestivalen, August 19:
Mattias Elftorp, along with Piracy is Liberation, is leaving C'est Bon Kultur. Piracy is Liberation 007: Spiders pt. 1 will therefore be published by Wormgod. Books 001-006 will still be available from C'est Bon Kultur. The new contact for artists is Allan Haverholm.
C'est Bon Anthology will no longer be carried by Diamond.
C'est Bon Anthology vol. 7 is the first issue not being solicited in the Previews catalogue. In order to get copies for retail of any of our books (C'est Bon Anthology and Piracy is Liberation), contact us via email: info@cestbonkultur.com
Our next exhibition will be C'est Bon Panorama 2. Follow the developments at the Panorama Workblog.
